I'll admit it, I really thought I was ready when we brought our girls home 17 years ago. I knew there would be some adjustment, but my plan was that all I had to do was keep doing it the way I was doing it - after all it was working for our 3 boys. Wow, I couldn't have been more mistaken!
Oh my, things got so hard. I doubted myself, and even felt like a failure as a mom. What if I wasn't enough to help my girls? What if I am actually making it worse?
We learned pretty quickly we had to "Do It Differently." What we were doing was not working for our family. All we wanted was for our girls - well, actually our whole family - to be happy and healthy.
So...I began digging, researching, and trying new ways of doing it. And after lots of research and years of practice, I decided to follow a hunch. That's when I discovered a new framework for parenting that I now call the Intentional Parent approach.
It wasn't long after that when we FELT THE SHIFT! Finally, we could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Finally, everything started to calm down. Finally, there was happiness in our every day again. Everything changed and for the better.
