Yesterday, I was watching a video by Tony Robbins. It was about the power of gratitude and really struck a chord with me. His message was that is impossible to feel gratitude and anger at the same time. Impossible to feel gratitude and fear at the same time.
It can be easy to be stuck in anger. Angry with our child’s behavior. Angry at the system that failed our child. Angry at someone who is judging and getting in the way of what we are trying to do. It can be easy to be stuck in fear. Fear of our child’s future. Fear of our future. Fear of having to stand up to others in order to get our child what he needs and deserves. Enter the power of gratitude. Focus on something or someone you are grateful for. The sun shining. Your cozy slippers. Your family. A supportive friend. The list goes on and on and on. Say it in your head. Write it down. Speak it out loud. Feel it in your heart. Gratitude is a POWERFUL TOOL! What are you grateful for today?
